SIR LAWRENCE JACKSON


His Honour was a judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia for 20 years before being elevated to the position of Chief Justice in 1969. Sir Lawrence presided over the Supreme Court for a further 8 years, eventually retiring in 1977. Thereafter, his Honour continued his role of service to the community as Chancellor of the University of Western Australia until 1981.

Sir Lawrence passed away in June of 1993 and is survived by his family including his wife Lady Mary Jackson and son, Alton, now his Honour Judge Jackson QC of the District Court of Western Australia.
